In deciding whether to admit an applicant, the College takes into account factors such as academic ability and intellectual maturity, and will require a Bachelors degree in any stream of Arts, Science or Commerce or any other faculty of a recognized University with a minimum of 45% marks in the Bachelor degree programme. The rules of passing the examination for this programme are the same as that for the B.S.L. LL.B. programme.
The College also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting eligible graduates as students.

Programme overview
The Bachelor of Science (BSc) is a three year programme with majors covering biological, human and earth, computational, physical and health orientated sciences. The huge range of subjects allows you to customise your degree, incorporating different areas of interest and expertise.
You "take a BSc" by studying courses in a major and other subjects of relevance or interest. These courses are chosen from the subjects and specialisations offered by the Faculty of Science. A major is the subject that you study to the highest level of your undergraduate degree.
As well as skills that are part of your academic learning in your chosen major, your BSc will expose you to new technologies, give you the opportunity to write and present work, the chance to work independently and in groups, and to develop independent research skills. If you are science-minded and want to keep your options open, this is the degree for you.

Programme structure
To complete a BSc degree you need to pass courses totalling at least 360 points. Courses are typically worth 15 points.
Your degree must include:
At least five courses (75 points) at Stage III. At least 4 of these courses (60 points) must be from your subject major. You may do more than one major and would complete three courses (45 points) at Stage III in this second major.
No more than 12 courses (180 points) at Stage 1. You typically take at least 2 courses (30 points) in your subject major at Stage 1. See Core Courses for more information.
At least 12 courses (180 points) above Stage One.
Courses must come from a minimum of three science subjects (including your major).
Two courses (30 points) from the General Education schedule approved for Science. Find out more about General Education.
You may include two courses (30 points) from subjects outside of the Science schedule eg, from subjects classified under Arts, Business and Economics etc. This is in addition to the two General Education courses.

5. Admission to B.Com Examination
A student shall be admitted to B.Com examination only if he:-
(i) is registered/admitted to the B.Com Course
(ii) has undergone a study course for a period not less than 9 months as may be specified by Board of Studies of ICAI from time to time as on the first day of the month in which examination is held by the Bharathiar University.
6. Examination and related Fees
The examination fee as may be prescribed by the Bharathiar University from time to time shall be payable by the students to the university.
7. Medium of Instruction
This programme shall be offered in the English medium.
8. Eligibility for Degree
The student shall be awarded B.Com degree by Bharathiar University if he/she has passed all papers stated hereinabove except those exempted as per clause 4, in view of having passed the Intermediate stage examination of CA course of ICAI by whatever name called.
Further on completion of PCC or its equivalent a student becomes eligible for the degree after 6 months of completion of PCC or Completing all the courses whichever is earlier.
9. Determination of Division /Grade
The marks obtained at Intermediate stage of examination of ICAI (by whatever name called say Intermediate /Professional Education – II / Professional Competence Course) and the marks obtained in non-exempted papers conducted by the Bharathiar University shall form the basis for the determination of division for awarding the Degree. Further, in order to determine the Division, Scaling method shall be used wherever required.
